Expectations :: Happiness

Picture the 90's, it was a happy time, people were working hard but were happy, there were still many good things getting invented everyday, whatever new was coming you liked it.

Picture now, people are working hard but are not happy, well most of them anyway, good things are still getting invented but its not exhilarating for you like the old times because now you are waiting for something new to come out, almost demanding for something new to come out, just like you expect a new iphone #S after or within 6 months of every iphone # release.

Earlier a wife would be glad for a treat out in a month, but now its a matter of life and death if a husband or a wife forget the weekly date ritual. #ExpectationBecameCompulsion
Earlier a kid would be glad for a walk out in the garden with their parents, now its almost as if they demand you to sit with them and watch the silly things they do and applaud it.

Why? Why is it that people liked to do all the good friendly treat-y stuff before but now its merely a duty to fulfill. Because we have stopped enjoying the actual act of 'Quality Time', instead we follow a pattern. A set pattern of dinner dates, coffee dates, like a set of puppets we follow what everyone, everywhere is doing in order to feel happy.

A set amount of population all across the Globe have a very weird mind functioning, it only fluctuates from 1-2% from their routine daily thinking. For some people very little will it vary and it'd result in a very crazy day after all. Little does it take to make us believe anything. And even the tiniest of crazy things will seem like a big deal.

What's the difference. EXPECTATIONS. In the early 90's people didn't expect Apple to give them a new iphone every year, but now we expect them to give us a new iphone every year, sorry twice a year and we expect that it should really be strikingly better than the last one.
Our moms did not react in a murderous way if, or, ever the dads miss out on a date night, if there was any date night fixed back then. Things were spontaneous or so that's what I have seen.
Most of us didn't expect a bigger or better present than last year.

It's all a game of expectations which in the end plays with our own minds to decipher our happiness quotient everyday.
Those from whom you expect a lot, you have given them a sense of control on your happiness, because if they don't do what you expected of them, you tend to retaliate in different ways to overcome your lack of judgement which in the end is what's stopping you from being happy in the first place.

Prabhleen Kaur this is for you!

"Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken; Sometimes, you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you'll find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding

But there's also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime- the one person who knows you
sometimes better than you know yourself, is the same person who's been standing beside you all along."

I know I don't need to say this even though it would just be too little and understood without words but before I surrender to the marriage god, I want to say from the bottom of my heart, Thank You. Thank you for always being there for me, thank you for everything you did for me, thank you really for just being there standing right next to me visibly or invisibly cos in my heart you are always there with me.

I am giving this in writing today that Nothing's gonna change my love for you, you will always be my partner.
If somebody cuts me into two equal halves, one will be you and other half will be Ruchir, cos you both comprise me.

and Its okay if you won't be here for my wedding. It's one of the biggest days of my life and you won't be here, its a bummer alright, but we'll celebrate the occasion our own way. I am gonna miss you every minute especially while all the 'desi' things that would be happening.

I love you and don't know what I would have done without you. You have no idea how much I miss you and how much I really need you here.

Cheers to Us!
XOXOXO

An ode to 2014

Cheers to the year that changed my life.  An extremely sick me, welcomed 2014 with a feeling that it would be one of the best cos it can't get any worse than witnessing jaundice positive results on new years eve, well it did get better wayy better than better. Time flew by, the year gave me new experiences, from bungee jumping in Rishikesh, to skiing in Gulmarg,  watching the Taj Mahal in full moon light, treks in Himalayas and quality time with friends and family.

A year that fulfilled my dream of getting in to NYU, experienced New York City like a NewYorker with my soulsister Parry, it was more than what I could have asked for, an amazing job, a bunch of accidental friends who are, as crazy as I am. #BlessingsInDisguise Visiting family and traveling where my heart led me.

Behold Bibbity Babbity Boom Bang, I met the love of my life. It's an interesting story, and I wish to do it justice by retelling it some other time with full focus. He is more than what defines a soulmate, I knew when I met him, he'd be the one I am going to spend the rest of my life with. With the nicest new family, a man who loves me more than me, I am all set to experience the world famous very well renowned 'marital bliss'.

A year that led me to call myself a nomad ending with giving me the most stable thing in my life with a life-long commitment to love and be loved by someone so special. A year that led me to believe that miracles do happen. A year that proved, no matter who you are or where you are or what you have, you are a part of the bigger picture directed by Mr. Destiny. A year that ended so differently and yet so amazing, a way I never thought it would and now I couldn't have asked for anything else or anything more.

Thank You everyone for being a part of my life in this year and further amazing years down the line.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest years to come, let's welcome 2015 with our arms wide open and hearts filled with love.

A heartfelt birthday wish!

Thank You Nikhil Sood. You are a great buddy. I am rendered speechless. It really got me smiling and crying at the same time.

-----------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------
It's after a long-long time,(A)
That I am writing a Rhyme.(A)
So if this one's coated with slime,(A)
Please remember "Trying is no crime".(A)

We first met in our first year,(B)
It was the interview for "The Literary Club".(C)
I was feeling that I am stuck among a band of queers,(B)
Suddenly I noticed that it was a flub.(C)
There came a "healthy" girl who was quite loud,(D)
There were people around her and she seemed quite proud.(D)
She was dressed properly something I never thought I'll find in that state,
When she started speaking, her accent was simply amazing mate!
Only two people were selected in the club, and yes it was both of us,
The first thing I noticed about her was that she could cuss :P
Freshers in college are full of ego , but she had none,
We interacted and she understood every single pun!!
Impressed I was with this girl to the core,
She was so different than everyone in a place so bore.
She was lively, cheerful, blunt, honest and a girl so carefree,
All her immense qualities were for everyone to see.
Second year came and Literary Club almost disbanded,
So I didn't have a "social intercourse" with the girl so candid.
Then came the Jaipur trip, and I saw a sulking face,
A face I was so used to see filled with "Mother of Grace!"
I did everything I had in my power to cheer her up,
Wait!! wait!! I didn't try hooking her up. (May be that would have worked :P)
As mature and sensible she was, she was back to her normal self,
She started shouting, screaming and laughing like a little elf.
When she's happy, you cannot help but smile,
She's among the most respected people in my memory file. :)
I cannot thank her enough for sharing with me the "Mukran Kaur",
My family now and in the future will get to hear her lores. :P

Parichita Gupta you're so different than everyone else I know and that's the only reason I like you :D.You're pure, gentle, humble and simple amazing. You are everything that a person can ask for in a friend. You're a good person, Pari :). The only reason you don't have a cake this time is because of Mukran kaur jisne dobara mukar jaana hai abhi!! Next time we meet, tera bill mujh par ;) Written de raha hoon. Saboot bhi hai tere paas :)
Happy B'day :)
May God give the very best of health ;)

-----------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------

Thank You really from the bottom of my heart, every word speaks for itself except the 'healthy' part. really? I'm gonna kill you for that :p
The Jaipur trip was awesome indeed, thanks to you and rest of the gang for being such big hearts :)
This birthday I may be so brave to wish for us to be friends for ever ..

A tribute to Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar is an excellent cricket player, I feel proud that he belongs to my country. He has been playing cricket for 24 years now, 3 generations of Indian population have seen him play. I think the reason Cricket is more popular in India than the National Sport, is because of him.

I am not much of a cricket fan, or any other sport for that matter, but I will still take some time out and pay my tributes to a very significant event of 2013, which took place on 16th November, which saw the end of an era, from now on this day will be known as Sachin Tendulkar's Day, as this was the morning that saw the last of the Master Blaster on the cricket stadium with a bat in his hand and dedicating, his bat, his victories to his supporters.

I am not a huge follower of Cricket but I am proud of Sachin Tendulkar, I am proud that I was born in the generation that has seen the best of him. Being a great player, he is a great human being too, Sachin Tendulkar is one the greatest philanthropes of India and for that the entire country salutes him.

I don't think I need to portray his stats here, almost the entire world knows that.

So many legends, so many best men in the game, but Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is God where cricket batmanship is concerned.

The flight of time

WE start preparing for it months beforehand, the excitement, the lights, the sweets, Yes, I am talking about Diwali, see how quickly it came and how quickly it went by.
They say "when you are happy, time flies by";  you don't realize the moments passing by because you are busy in turning those moments into memories.
Same principle but many different applications.
Time will fly at its own pace, it doesn't wait for anyone nor does it slows by to let you cherish or bear something for a longer time.
Similarly our words might be forgotten in time, or our faces fade by, but one thing remains constant, our actions. Whatever we do, it leaves a mark, it stays. If you hurt someone by saying rude/bad things, with time they might forget the exact words what you said to them, but they will remember how you made them feel.
Our every action etches its place in the immortal world and in one way or the other it comes around for us.
People need to understand that beauty fades with time, what stays is the goodness of heart. A good looking face cannot give you the comfort of a consoling heart but a compassionate heart can show you eternal beauty of life, the small things in life that matter and make your life full. Looks are as shallow as an empty mountain pit.
There are only a few things in life that will stay by us a happy memory, a piece of advise, not good looks, shoes, clothes, houses or cars.

So people appreciate what you got before you realize what you want is what you HAD.

I'll give you a small exercise to make it easier for you.
Step 1: Go sit in a public place, like a park or a railway station not in a hotel or a restaurant.
step 2: Look around, observe a different cluster of people,
Step 3: Try to imagine what they are doing, what are there expressions, try to understand them
Step 4: Think

Think about how different everybody's life is, appreciate what you have, be happy for what you don't have but other's have, it makes you a person with desires and in life, you have something to look forward to.
For one split second, imagine your life the way you want your life to be. go to your 'Happy Place'. Think about every little detail in your life, be your own creator; Imagine a life that you always wanted and in your happy place you have it, you have it all.
So if you are ever feeling low or distant go to your happy place, its yours and yours only. Don't let anybody get you down, you can create your life the way you want it to be.

Do what you want in your life, follow your dreams, follow your passions, don't let anyone ever tell you, "you can't do this" As Will Smith says, "don't even let YOURSELF tell you that you can't do stuff"
Live your life the way you want it to be not how the society tells you it should be.

Time will fly by, it never waits for anyone, but its in your hands to have simple moments or great memories

Dream on! and dream on till your dreams come true.

PotterHead and Proud of it!

I feel sorry for those who never got to read Harry Potter books with the eyes and innocence of a child.

I read my first Harry Potter book when I was 7 and there is no looking back, such is the power of love and friendship and innocence in that story that I can relate to those characters as if they were real and at some point of my life they are. They have been there for me on any Sunday afternoon in the shape of a book or a movie or the audio tracks.
I feel for it each time I read or watch or listen to it.

I felt for Harry when he found out the truth about his parents after 10 years of believing a lie.
I felt Hogwarts was my home too.
I always hoped to have such friends around me.
I cried like a baby when Harry found out about his Godfather.
I cried for weeks when Dumbledore died.
I cried when I saw how much love was in Snape's eyes for a woman dying in his arms, he could never be with.
I cried when Hermione removed herself from her loving parents memory, when her pictures were fading, I was crying.
I wished every moment for Voldemort to drop dead and give Harry his mum and dad back,
I hauled in the theatre at the end of the last Harry potter movie.

Harry taught me never to feel alone or loose your courage, cos its who you are inside and the choices you make, that define who you are.
Ron taught me its okay to make jokes and be sarcastic all the time and laugh, even if the joke is on you.
Hermione  taught me its okay to embrace your inner nerd and to break rules as long as you are helping someone.
Hagrid taught me looks can be deceptive, that even the most fiery face can hold all the kindness in the World.
The Weasleys taught me that money is just a material, its love that is precious.
Dumbledore taught me that help will always be given to those who deserve it.
Fred and George told me that laugh and making others laugh, people could always use some extra laughs.
Dobby taught me to believe in thy self and do what thy believe in not what thou should be doing.

There are so many feelings that I cannot explain or write in words, all I can say is that to be a part of the magical world, you need to have an imagination. and I think people with no imagination are just plain stupid.

I go to the Potter World in sickness and in health, in happiness or in despair, in regularity or on a special occasion. Because the comfort that I find in that World, I cannot find elsewhere.

Call me crazy It doesn't matter, but I am And I will be a Potterhead forever and ever.

Thank You J K Rowling.

Bobby The Gay Ghost continues....

You'll have to read the First Chapter before reading this one so Click on this link, don't worry it'll open in a new window

It was a Fall night, cool wind breezing and fresh crisp feel of Autumn in the air. A perfect day for two people madly in love for a year to tie the knot and make a special memory.

It was quite after midnight when Blake Sanchez heard a loud noise coming from the kitchen. He called to his new wife, but heard nothing in return, it had been ten minutes for her to have gone down to the kitchen to get water, it certainly doesn't take that long. He decided to go down and check upon her.

A look of dread and horror passed Blake's face when he saw his wife, Gaby, standing on the high chair in the kitchen with a scared and horrified expression, a rope tied around her neck with the ceiling. Blake hurried to her wondering why would she do that and why on Earth is that happening. It all got clear to him in a minute when he asked her, "Honey, what happened?, get down from that chair, what are you doing"; A loud cackling noise from behind replies, "I'll tell you what happened honey", Blake turned and saw Bobby the Gay Ghost sitting on top of a Cupboard.

In a trembling voice Blake asked, "What do you want?", Bobby replied in a sad sarcastic tone, "I am sad and disappointed in you Blakey, I thought we were friends. I thought if you'd get married, I'd be your best man but you didn't even invite me. I'm hurt."

Blake said, "I didn't know how to track you down to send your invitation card, is there a P O Box in Ghost Town, for future references why don't you leave me down with your address, and in the meanwhile get my wife down right now."

"Very funny Blake," Bobby said, "You don't want to mess around with me when I have your wife convinced that you and I have a very special connection that she will never have with you and that she shouldn't even be alive to begin with "

"What did you say to her to creep"

"Oh, I don't know, I talk nothing but the truth"

Blake to Gaby, "Don't believe anything he says Gaby, he is nothing but an unwanted boy who can't stand anyone else being happy, let this go and come down"

Gaby replies, "I know but my head is fuzzing around, I don't know what I'm doing, I don't want to kill myself"

"You're pushing your luck too far Blake, Don't take my appearance to be mild, I am known to kill nowadays" replied Bobby.

"Kill fashion I must say" said Gaby, hysterically. To which Bobby glided towards her, got so close that they were nose to nose, and said acidly, "You are not so terrified anymore";

"Oh that'd be cos I just realized you are that gay ghost who have been haunting Blake and his school friends, you used to go to the same school, and nobody liked you hence you killed yourself"

"Don't provoke me lady"

"Get out of our house"

"I will take your soul with me"

With this he hovered towards Blake's head and started circling them both.

"You leave us alone Bobby, we have done nothing wrong to you"

"You and your pesky little friends will all pay for what you have done, I am going tonight, but I'll be back to make sure that your children turn out to be gay, I will make your children suffer the way I did, and I will make them start to hate you and make you feel miserable but why should I let you have even a little bit of happiness in your life" saying that he swooped under the high chair that Gaby was standing and slid it out from beneath her, killing her in an instant.

Blake had a look of instant disbelief and shock, he couldn't believe what had just happened, he cursed at Bobby, while the gay ghost glided in mid-air happily, "Oh on the other hand, Happy marriage to you my dear friend, I give you a life full of misery and Blakey next time when you get married I'd expect a toast for me at the very least" he piped in chirpily and vanished from the spot.

Next day Bobby the gay Ghost made headlines in the Italian papers, he was being awarded the 'Invisible Icon' of the Year, no one knows what happened a day before and no one could ever believe Blake as to why Bobby a happy horny gay ghost kill an innocent girl.

## I don't know I am just experimenting as to what it should be, a funny story or a scary story. I am not sure yet, I definitely need reviews. So comment people or else Bobby might visit you soon ;]] ##

Ghost named Bobby

He always used to wear Yellow Pants and  a Pink shirt, sometimes accessorized with a white feather hat and pink stilettos.

It happened around 10 years back, in a small sub urban town called Rosemont in the north east of the capital of state of Washington. The class of 2003 at rosemont high school had a very eccentric peculiar looking kid named Bobby, he was a sweet shy little kid always on his own. He was 17, perhaps at that time he didn't know it, that he was different from other guys, they had different choices. So when one day his elder sister suggested that, "Maybe, Bobby, you are gay", he didn't accept it at first, he found it insanely weird, but gradually he realized it was true and decided it was time to come out of the closet.

Kids at school made fun of him, taunted him, locked him in the lockers but determined as Bobby was, he was also a big grudge holder. He silently tolerated every mockery, every mistreatment until one day it got too much, he was wearing yellow pants, pink shirt and pink shoes in school, fellow students, teachers and every person at school snorted and laughed upon looking at him. It was the height of humiliation when he found out his own parents didn't accept him that way. He went to the top of the school building and jumped without a second thought.

To this day, boys of the class of 2003, regret they ever made fun of Bobby, the gay ghost.
The tales have become legendary after that one long winter night, a little boy claimed that he was being touched at inappropriate parts of his body by a gust of wind. Similar story after a few days with another boy, thus began the series of terror for the boys of class of 2003 of Rosemont high school, where Bobby, the gay ghost, once went.

Today he is a free horny but happy ghost, sometimes he hangs out in London, the city of fashion, sometimes he is present at the fashion shows in NYC, sometimes his presence is felt in the men's try room at Giorgio Armani in Milan. Though he never lets his school buddies forget his touch, visits them all frequently, even though they are all settled with families, but for them, the name Bobby still makes them go pee in their pants and makes their wives insecure. A few of them were once sighted in the supporting parade of Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) hoping to get on the good side of Bobby, but that only made Bobby visit them all that very night, reminding them that it was not good enough.

Thus that is how the tale of ''the lives and loves of Bobby, the gay ghost'' begun..

(to be continued..)

Spiritualism or Business-ism

Okay the whole idea of a guru or a spiritual leader is bollocks.
The idea irritates me to go red in my face. No offense to people who follow these people, I, for one DO NOT support their lifestyle.
Take the Art of living founder for starters, He found the art of living, he is an overall global spiritual leader, but, forgive me 'GURUJI' I don't see you much helping or supporting your own down trodden country. I never saw you coming forward, using your influence for all the rape victims in our country, instead you go to SAN JOSE and give lecture about non-violence, you are travelling across the globe, visiting Canada, meditating in Korea, instead of doing reforms in this poor country where people want someone with that amount of influence to fight for justice. Dude do something that would actually count for your existence. The kind of power that you could summon would might actually do something good here. But hey dollars are better than INR's isn't it.
I don't even want to begin how this whole thing is more of a profession for capitalism instead of reformism.
Don't get me started on Baba Ramdev. I have never seen a baba gaining fame quicker than he got. Like 15 seconds not 15 minutes type of thing.
and the amount of influence that he's got, the kind of media frenzy these people could gather could actually bring justice a little more closer. I never heard about him fighting against the injustice done to the women in his own damn country.
Oh how can we forget Baba Assa Ram ji BAPU, my foot. yeah, "called the rapist bhaiya" that would do the trick, how utterly moron can you actually be.
I cannot even begin on the lady spiritual leader of my own country cause they are all stinking power money hungry douches.

'Sanyas' means leaving all the worldly possessions and materialism to live a life of a saint. living for god, the only meaning of life is to worship god and gain moksh (eternal peace and freedom)

But I am sorry to acquaint you that these spiritual leaders are the MOST materialistic people ever, they travel in luxury cars, use uber classy technology, have highest paying contacts as 'bhagats' (followers), there are even classes of tickets like the VIP section, the gold section, the medium section when they come to deliver lectures of EQUALITY, Non-DISCRIMINATION. I mean WHAT-the Hell is that all about.
The bigger idiots are the people who are paying them (the so called saints) to teach them (the people) how-to-live. CRAZY, I must say.
People pay these kinda people, corrupt politicians and the consequences are as follows: Who is the one suffering? well, we all know the answer to that.

Compromise

com·pro·mise

/ˈkämprəˌmīz/
Meaning- Settlement, Conciliation, coming to mutual terms with someone.

In life one always don't get, what one really wants.
That is why, we introduced the word compromise in our dictionary.
Its one way for those who don't get what they want, to move on in life.
Compromise helps us to acknowledge that life goes on. It helps to see the world is moving forward every second.

Poetry is the most simple and deepest form of expressing love. not everyone can do that. and not everyone has someone who can do it for them. but that's not the sad part. the sad part is when there IS someone who is writing words for you that passionately because they either can't say it to you which is why they write and choose not to send them to you because somehow they know that, to you, it doesn't matter. or maybe you don't want to hear it from them. yes that's the sad part.

Either you wait for the person who'd make you feel special or you wait, for yourself to become that person for someone else, in one way or the other, some one makes a compromise that we choose not to ever tell the world. slowly and slowly it becomes one of the bitter truths that we eventually learn to live with.

#Only a lucky few fall in love with their compromises.

There are always two sides to a story.

Remember the coin that Harvey Dent had (in the Dark Knight), the one which had faces on both sides (almost similar), yeah I am not talking about that. I am talking about a normal coin which can be refereed to any normal situation. Whatever happens, its our choices that makes us truly what we are and as spiderman said, there is always a choice, no matter what.
so from today, instead of looking at the dark gloomy face of the coin, I am going to look at the brighter side of it.
why should I allow anyone to upset my mood, or give me a hard time. I am my own ruler and I am going to do what I want to do, and I am always going to have a choice of choosing the right or the wrong, but whatever choice I make, its mine, profoundly, single handedly, mine.

why be

with somebody who can't find a single thing in you worth appreciating.
I mean whats the whole institution of love being the only power transforming ugly into beautiful for that one person in the whole world.
I guess people believed in all that crap, some people still do.

If someone loves you, they should love you no matter what. YES, there is UNCONDITIONAL love, there has to be, I believe that there is. I am sure it will be worth the wait. I mean why tell someone that you love them so that eventually when they fall in love with you, you can't stop annoying them by telling them to change. If there is a single percentage of the change-of-feelings situation, one should own up, instead of making the other person either crazy to the level of insanity or drowning them in the deepest, lowest pit of self-esteem.
It is necessary to feel good no matter what! Each and every human being on this earth is allowed to feel good about themselves. and

"NO ONE can make you feel inferior without your own consent.", The gracious Eleanor Roosevelt said that.

If you feel the person you're with doesn't deserve you or you don't deserve the person you're with, 'fess up and if you can't change and make it work, let it go. Its better than creating complexities and destroying one's personality, so stop,  save your time, look for someone else.
Stop this stupid Indian mindset that the first person you date is the one you'll spend the rest of your life with, maybe it happens but you know what at least don't commit on the first date. First get to know that person better, than decide if you are compatible and you get along, if you do than well HALLELUJAH! lucky you. You've hit the jackpot. But if not, let it go and Move the hell on to another person. There are plenty of fish in the ocean.

As there is someone to whom you are as beautiful and charming AS You want it to be, don't waste your time with losers who puts you down just because you are fat or ugly or both because you very well know that YOU ARE NOT..

Life!

Isn't that absolutely correct!

I'm sure you might have heard this before, I surely have, but today at some point, It means something to me.

Its totally worth sharing it!

A valuable lesson learnt (part II) ...

Read this small story; Hope that makes a BIG change in YOU !

At The End Don't Forget To Share It If It Inspires You :)

The Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see & asked the students "How much do you think
this glass weighs?"

'50 grams!'..... '100 grams!' .....'125 grams' ...the students answered.

"I really don't know unless I weigh it," said the professor, "but, my
question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?"

'Nothing' ...the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor
asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one student.

"You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"

"Your arm could go numb; you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis &
have to go to hospital for sure!"
... Ventured another student & all the students laughed

"Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?" Asked the
professor.

'No'.. Was the answer.

"Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?"

The students were puzzled.

"What should I do now to come out of pain?" asked professor again.

"Put the glass down!" said one of the students "Exactly!" said the
professor.

Life's problems are something like this.

Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK.

Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache.

Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do
anything.

It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, But EVEN
MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before you go
to sleep...

That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh &strong & can
handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!

So, when you start your day today, Remember friend to 'PUT THE GLASS DOWN
TODAY!' Let go of all that is unnecessary.. Wishing you a light new life..

___________________________________________________________________________________________

This story inspired me so much that I had to let the world know,

To all those who are/were, a part of my life in anyway possible,
"if I did anything wrong to you, today is the last day I am going to think about it. and I suggest you do the same, so from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry, if you can please forgive me"

Lets put the glass down today, shall we, and start a new fresh chapter of our lives.

XOXO

A valuable lesson learnt..

Sometimes, I sit back and think and say to myself, "What an idiot I was", "What dropped on my head at that time", "I must be mentally challenged back then"
Well today was one of those days.
I was sitting, an average Saturday evening, but suddenly my mind, on its own accord, went into a FLASHBACK.
After a while, my mind was showing me all the silly, stupid things I did in my past.  I realized, We all make mistakes. But a useful mistake would be the one in which, instead of regretting we learn something valuable and turn that mistake into a Lesson.
If we keep regretting about something we did wrong, it would only keep us from moving on!
and Moving ahead is as essential as drinking water, trust me.
OK, we did a mistake, we know we did a mistake, we are SORRY we made that mistake, but we can't keep on rubbing that thing in our mind. Somewhere or After Sometime, our subconscious needs to make a little peace with it. Not doing so, would cause depression, inability to take risks and in simple words, it will make it extremely difficult to MOVE ON.
Living with regrets is definitely not healthy for any human being.
More then you guys, I am probably writing this to convince myself more, that, I am not doing anything wrong, if I want to keep my past mistakes at a bay from my regular life. Its good for my present and future both, I guess.
Just by thinking about it, or remembering it, or telling my mind that "I made an awful mistake" every time won't help me  in choosing my next step.

So I am gonna let "bygones be bygones"

"Erase the past, Enjoy the present and Embrace the Future"-

^ This quote came into my mind, if you know who is it by please let me know (I am not sure, if these words are exactly used by someone else before, but they fit here well, I guess).

Moving on,
Sincerely yours.
XOXO

Winters

The best time of the year!
I was thinking about setting up a christmas tree early this year. My mom was surprised as to why I want to set up a christmas tree this early, well to begin with she wanted to know why I wanted to set up a tree at all.
I don't know I just love Christmas, well its a bummer that we don't get snow here, aah what I'd give to live in a snowy place someday.  Sure, it'll happen one fine day but till then enjoy the spirit of Christmas no matter where you are in the World.
If you consider there are so many festivals that relate to all different mythologies. The meaning of festivals are same but, the time they are celebrated, might differ in all parts of the world. Take out the optimist inside of you and celebrate all the festivals no matter which religion you follow.
Even the smallest occasions in life should be celebrated. Life never throws a second chance. Make each day count.
I hope I am able to set up a very pretty Christmas tree so that my mom thinks it'd look best with presents around it. PICTURE PERFECT.
(Who doesn't love presents :D)

XOXO
Isn't it Gorgeous!
P.S. this is what I hope mine looks like. Enlightens the spirit inside of ya inn'it?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

People you shared your history with

Ah! so much has happened in this last month, just didn't get a chance to share it with you all.
I have started to commute which consumes all my day, from early morning to late evening I just don't get to know when my day started and when it's already time for bed. I am not an early riser also I am on the first stage of insomnia which doesn't let me sleep on proper timings, but after this heavy schedule and all-busy day, I have to sleep on time, get up on time, honestly I am losing my nerves here.

Weekend and vacations are one time when I become my old-self and trust me, that feels good.
and another thing that makes me feel equally good is the good time's spent with my favorite group of people in the world, my sisters, Mehak, Deepali and Kinu. Can't explain how much fun it is when we get together, and that is rare, as Mehak lives in Delhi and Deepali in Canada, I and Kinu are from the same part of a little city in Punjab. When I got a chance to hang out with the trio all together, I was, in no-way going to miss the chance to add this holiday in the list of best-times-EVER.

And, for once again, we did have the best times of our lives, I am surely saying that from their part too because, I know them, bloody-hell-a-lot-well. Okay, the plan didn't go that well, we had to miss a little bit of the itinerary but hey! it was all worth it! I still end up laughing out loud on some of the silliest jokes we made. For myself only, I can say that the time I spent with these people is the time I am going to cherish throughout my life, even if I get to live a hundred years!
Its just their talent or my weakness towards them, they do an amazing job to make me feel happy and special.

In the end, because I can't go into much details due to certain requirements of the Censor board, for obvious reasons, I am going to end this entry on a mysterious yet happy note.

I don't have the pictures yet but surely coming soon with a little more update of the 'highlights of the day' when I meet them again, next Weekend! YAYIEEEE. Can't wait

I love you guys..
XOXO

How we Met

"How did you guys meet"?  I am talking about my partner-in-crime here, PRABHLEEN KAUR, a lot of people have been asking us this question lately and even though its not a new thing, we decided to turn it into my new blog entry, The story of How We Met!
It was 28th August of 2009, our Admission Counseling Day, it was as if, the only course left for me to get admission if I wanted to become an engineer, so my parents and I went up to the counseling of 5-year Integrated Engineering Management Course at Punjabi University, Patiala. When I entered, I thought, I am going to be stuck here, in the middle of weirdos. But then I saw her, sitting in between her parents, I thought she was there to admit her 'younger' sibling or someone else because she certainly didn't look my age (credits to her tall frame, she's 5'10'' :p).  She smiled her million dollar smile at me and I gave her my worried smile back, not aware of the fact that she was going to be my BFF <3
I went to stand with my dad and his friend, he was there with his daughter for her admission too, I didn't know her then either, but another of my crazy buddies MANU THAKUR. We became friends instantly and we were discussing her last-bogus-experience in Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana. We were in the midst of talking when the announcing lady yelled, "Prabhleen Kaur please proceed" I saw her going to sign up for admission in Electronics and Communication Department.
After a while when I and Manu were done with our admission forms too, Prabhleen (I know she's going to kill me for the extensive usage of her name Prabhleen instead of her preference for PARRY but I am going to keep it this way)  came up to me and asked, "which trade are you getting into and when will the final list come up?" I replied, "I don't know, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out." She gave me her number, I went to my mom to take my phone out of her bag, and I saved her number. We talked in the evening when she called me to tell me that the lists were there and that we've both got our preferred trades.
Later that evening, I was just going through my facebook and I found out a new friend request from a certain Prabhleen Kaur, her profile picture in a green t-shirt-, still one of my favorite pictures of her, and that's how I found this creepy-facebook-obsessed-sweet-innocent-completely-boungi PARRY.
Sure, we had a lot of low-phases in our life, but who doesn't ?? and we've come out stronger than ever, out of every situation. There are things that she doesn't like about me, and I don't like about her, despite of all that we are Friends Forever and Ever.

Here's to you, Parrad, "From the first day of our college till the last day of my life, I'll be standing right next to you till the day I die." I LOVE YOU :)

And as we go on, we remember, All the times we've had together; And as our lives change, from whatever, We are
"FRIENDS FOREVER"

P.S. Our favorite song, we scream our lungs out when we sing this together, "http://youtu.be/Ie5YvDd4NFw"

Eternally grateful ;)

"In life, we must learn to say - I am sorry, I love you, thank you and good bye. It might not be easy but we can also say you are welcome, please stay or even stop. It would just be a matter of choice; choice of words, time and person. So be honest, listen and say what is in your heart."

- Facebook status updated by my friend PRABHLEEN KAUR..

Whether you are saying sorry for accidentally bumping into someone, or hurting them beyond repair, saying it to a random person or some one you don't want to loose. "Sorry" helps, it makes a difference.
Whether you are thanking some one for lending you a pencil or thanking them for being there for you, to some one helping you at the ticket counter or some one helping you in running your life, "thanks" helps, it makes a difference.
Whether the goodbye you said was more intentional or involuntary than you meant it, "see you soon" helps, it makes a difference.
Whether you are saying I love you to your mom or your brother, your family or your friend, some one you meet everyday or you see once every year, it helps, it always makes a difference.
These words are not adjectives or helping verbs or nouns or pronouns they hold much more relevance in our lives than a few grammar tests or mannerisms. Its funny how we forget to tell our moms that we love them, forget to say thanks to our dads and sorry to our siblings but we do not hesitate in wasting these precious words by casually springing them unnecessarily at any random stranger. Its good to say thanks to the lady at the coffee shop, to the waiter who had to pick up your dirty dishes, sorry to the janitor who had to clean up your mess! But seriously, at first, why not say thanks to your dad for working hours and hours so that you could eat out, shop till your hearts stops beating, and enjoy a comfortable life; why not say thanks to your moms who suffered sleepless nights due to your sore tummy when you were a kid, sorry for breaking your siblings favorite toys just for the fun of it. And than throw these words around in the basket of kindness, mannerisms and etiquette s.Taking the most important people in our life for granted leads to zero appreciation whereas you should be showering them with presents (just a thought).
Always remember:

"Be grateful, be kind, be loved"
